A very special ice cream for a very special lady.
When immigrants arrived on Ellis Island in the 1920s, they were greeted by two great American symbols the Statue of Liberty and a bowl of ice cream (it's true!). In honor of the Statue of Liberty's 125th birthday and because we think she's an ice cream lover at heart Turkey Hill Dairy is introducing Lady Liberty Premium Ice Cream as a Limited Edition flavor throughout 2011.
Lady Liberty Premium Ice Cream is a combination of mint premium ice cream, chocolate cake crunchies and a crunchy chocolate cookie swirl. And to make a great flavor even sweeter, Turkey Hill will make a donation from the sales of every 48 oz. container of Lady Liberty Mint purchased to benefit the new Peopling of America Center at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.
To help spread the word about Lady Liberty Premium Ice Cream, Turkey Hill will be giving away tastes of it at sampling events on Ellis Island and at many of our sampling events this summer.
Turkey Hill has lots of great stuff planned to celebrate Lady Liberty's 125th including:
- An essay contest
- Trivia games
- And lots of prizes!
For many Americans, the Statue of Liberty represents limitless opportunities and a chance to make dreams come true. In that same spirit, Turkey Hill Dairy created the Lady Liberty Essay Contest, which asks middle school and high school students a simple question: What does liberty mean to you?
See the winners who will receive a $5,000 scholarship!
And we want you to be part of them all! Please feel free to enter your e-mail address to receive updates about our Lady Liberty sampling events and the fun and games we have planned throughout the year!
