COLUMBIA, Pa. (July 1, 2013) — Every day, Turkey Hill Dairy receives ice cream flavor requests from fans in hopes that their favorite flavor will be made. At the Turkey Hill Experience, guests can now truly experience what it's like to be an ice cream maker for a day by creating and tasting their own ice cream flavor at its new Taste Lab exhibit.
During their Turkey Hill Experience, visitors will research and virtually develop their own ice cream concoction by choosing the ingredients, designing their own package, and starring in their own commercial. Through the Taste Lab, visitors will now have the opportunity to taste their own ice cream flavor by making the recipe.
"We're really excited about the addition of the Taste Lab because it provides our visitors with the ultimate ice cream experience," said Bob Adams, manager of the Turkey Hill Experience. "Attendees not only get to make and taste their very own ice cream recipe, but they are also provided with a unique educational experience in a state-of-the-art-lab to learn everything there is to know about ice cream."
Guests will start with an ice cream base and add in the flavoring, mix-ins and syrups/swirls of their choice to create their unique concoction. While attendees make their delicious dessert, a Turkey Hill Dairy expert will provide them with an Ice Cream 101 class.
The Taste Lab costs an additional $4 per person and lasts nearly 40 minutes. Sessions will occur throughout each day with limited seating for each session.
In addition to the Taste Lab, the Turkey Hill Experience allows visitors to discover the history of Turkey Hill Dairy, as well as its ice cream and iced tea, by exploring hands-on interactive exhibits. Attendees can also step into the role of a dairy farmer by milking a mechanical cow and climbing into a Turkey Hill Dairy vintage milk truck, all while enjoying unlimited free ice cream and iced tea samples.
