Connecticut entry takes majority of 105,000 online votes

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (March 22, 2011) — Turkey Hill Dairy has announced the grand prize winner in its Giant Cow Makeover Contest. After whittling down the selections to five finalists and tallying more than 105,000 online votes, Turkey Hill Dairy declared Stephanie Orts of Seymour, CT the winner.

Stephanie's winning design features the Giant Cow's body covered in packages of favorite Turkey Hill Dairy Premium Ice Cream flavors. Her entry earned 47,654 votes, the highest of the five finalists. As grand prize winner, Stephanie's design will be painted on one of the Giant Cows. She'll also receive an ice cream party in her hometown with an appearance by the newly repainted cow, and a two-night stay in Lancaster County, Pa. to attend the grand opening of the county's newest destination, the Turkey Hill Experience, a 20,000-square-foot attraction highlighting the ice cream making process and the history of Turkey Hill Dairy.

The remaining finalists, Richard Marquette of Spring Grove, PA; Caitlin McCabe of Ambler, PA; Jennifer Utlak of Greenville, PA; and Donna E. McKenna of Norwood, PA, will each receive a one-month supply of ice cream, a Lancaster County gift basket, and four tickets to the Turkey Hill Experience.

The newly designed cow will be unveiled this spring and join Turkey Hill's fleet of Giant Cows known to folks all over the United States. Based at the Dairy in Lancaster County, Pa., the black and white Holsteins have been spotted roaming highways far and wide, stopping at state fairs, grand opening events and parties, giving away free ice cream and iced tea to everyone in their path since 1967.
