Turkey Hill And Peanut Butter & Co. Team Up To Create All Natural Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream

Partnership is the first for Turkey Hill's growing All Natural Ice Cream lineup

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (July 21, 2014) — What do you get when you combine two classic flavors — banana and peanut butter — and a partnership between two companies known for their all natural creations? You get an all natural ice cream dream team.

Lancaster County, Pa.-based Turkey Hill Dairy has joined forces with Peanut Butter & Co. on the newest addition to the Turkey Hill All Natural Ice Cream lineup, Limited Batch Banana Peanut Butter. The flavor includes banana-flavored ice cream swirled with Peanut Butter & Co.'s "Smooth Operator" peanut butter.

"We're from Lancaster County and they're from New York City — two very different places — but we both share a passion for making good products using simple processes," said Turkey Hill Dairy President John Cox of the collaboration with the Greenwich Village, New York-based peanut butter maker. "That's what made this flavor so easy to agree to when we first approached Peanut Butter & Co. with the idea almost a year ago."

True to Turkey Hill's all natural ice cream formula, the flavor is made with only the simplest of ingredients — just cream, milk, sugar, bananas, and peanut butter (made from peanuts, sugar, peanut oil, and salt).

"When it comes to flavors that are perfect with peanut butter, banana ranks right up there with chocolate," said Peanut Butter & Co. President and Founder Lee Zalben, recalling the honey, bananas and peanut butter sandwich known as "The Elvis" currently offered at the Peanut Butter & Co. Sandwich Shop. "To combine those two ingredients in an ice cream flavor is a real treat."

Peanut Butter & Co. began in 1998 as a sandwich shop in Greenwich Village on Manhattan's lower west side. Since then, it's become one of the fastest-growing natural and specialty food companies in the United States, with ten varieties of all natural peanut butter in more than 15,000 supermarkets nationwide.

Although Turkey Hill has partnered with other brands in the past to create ice cream flavors — including its popular Gertrude Hawk Box of Chocolates, Stuff'd Junior Mints, and Snyder's of Hanover Pennsylvania Dutch Pretzel offerings — Banana Peanut Butter marks the first partnership for Turkey Hill's growing All Natural Ice Cream lineup. The ice cream flavor is also the first co-branding effort for Peanut Butter & Co.

All Natural Banana Peanut Butter will be in stores July through September at select grocers and convenience stores wherever Turkey Hill products are sold. For more information, visit
