COLUMBIA, Pa. (May 16, 2013) — A free community event will be held to celebrate the Turkey Hill Experience's second birthday. The public is invited to share in the fun of marking this milestone with a day-long celebration held on Sunday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 17,000-square-foot visitor destination, which opened on June 4, 2011, is full of hands-on exhibits highlighting the history of Turkey Hill Dairy as well as its ice cream and iced tea production processes. The one-of-a-kind interactive attraction allows visitors to create their own virtual ice cream flavor and packaging and to star in their own Turkey Hill commercial, all while enjoying unlimited free samples of Turkey Hill Ice Cream and Iced Tea.
"Opening the Turkey Hill Experience fulfilled a dream of mine to be able to share the history of the Dairy with our consumers through a hands-on learning experience," said Quintin Frey, president of Turkey Hill Dairy. "What's even better is that the Turkey Hill Experience invites each visitor into the Turkey Hill family by showing them a behind-the-scenes look at how our products are made."
Visitors at the celebration will be able to enjoy a free ice cream sundae bar, birthday-themed puzzles and games. Birthday visitors will also have a chance to win giveaways each and every hour, including a year's supply of ice cream and season passes to the Turkey Hill Experience. All birthday activities are open to the public, no admission required.
Callie, the Turkey Hill Experience mascot, will be making special appearances.
"We are proud to be a Mid-Atlantic visitor destination for two years now, and look forward to sharing our story with more visitors in the coming year," said Frey.
